A Sunny Day on a Saturday
Until Saturday, June 28, we had not seen the sun for more than a minute or two each day. It was light all the time, and the water from the sky was mostly occasional sprinkles. But for the most part, no sun. When the sun came out during our food tour, our guide paused, held her head up to the light, and absorbed the rays until the moment passed.
But for the most part, Saturday was sunny.

We walked to a hip coffeehouse near here, and had avocado toast (what else do you get at a hip coffeehouse), iced tea (the only place in Reykjavík I found that had fresh brewed iced), ham and cheese croissant, and cappuccino. We walked down to the sea wall.

And admired the view

We saw Seltjarnarnes Church

And Esja, the mountain that watches over Reykjavík

Colorful Reykjavík streets

We returned to our Airbnb to do our wash. Later in the day, about 10 pm

That night, we actually saw a sunset (or was it a sunrise?)

The next day, Sunday June 30, we’re off to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and it will be overcast once again, don’t worry.
Thanks for sharing.
