Goodbye Spain; Hello Hungary
Adiós españa; szia Magyarország!
By now, I instinctively say “si” instead of “yes”. Now I need to learn to say “igen”. I’m glad to be relieved of the responsibility of determining whether to say ‘gracias’ or ‘gràcies’ (or ‘merci’), but “Köszönöm” is much harder to say.
On our last day in Spain, we went out to eat at a great taperia called Macot. We loved the artichokes.

We then wandered to a little park nearby…

…where a little old lady was lecturing a couple of boys who just wanted to play ping pong. We thought she was their grandmother, but the boys told us, after she was gone, that she was just a random old lady.

Then we went back to the Airbnb to pack. The next day we flew to Búdapest. Turns out the pilot was flying his last flight, retiring after 42 years. A lot of applause from passengers and gound crew. Some tears from flight attendants.

We tried to check into our apartment early. Our talkative host wasn’t quite ready for us. He wanted to send us to a restaurant area that was an unknown distance away. We made it to the corner to the Selah Coffee House, a delightful little place with sofas, real iced tea and ’70s music.
Now I have a question for you. What’s this?

Here’s another hint

Did you guess restaurant? It’s called 26° Budapest.

Here’s us (minus photographer, Gail, of course).

Here’s Gail. I really like this photo, despite the reflection in her glasses.

Afterwards we went home, watched a YouTube video from Stuffed Cabbage Adventures about what to see in Budapest, and went to bed.
