The End of the Cruise
Passau, Saturday, June 14
OK, we were supposed to be in Regensburg today. But the low water levels in the Danube force the ship to stay in Passau. The cruise director offers an option to take a bus to Regensburg and back, but since we’re going to be in Regensburg on Sunday anyway, we chose to stay and explore Passau. Besides, who wants another disastrous 3 hour bus trip, whose only saving grace would be no “Sound of Music”. 🙂
From the ship to the shore:

St. Paul’s church

Unidentified tower with a cool dome and a gold clock

Madonna and Child on side of a random building

Bishop’s Residence for St. Stephen’s Cathedral

St. Stephen’s Cathedral under construction. (Are you surprised?)

Wittelsbach Fountain

Bishop’s offices

The Golden Roof restaurant

A flowered path

Three rivers meet in Passau. We saw the Danube (earlier photo). Here’s the Inn. But we didn’t see the Ilz.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral. We came to see the largest organ in the world, but not only were some pipes out for cleaning, but the entire large organ itself wasn’t here, only the small one.

The Cathedral Gardens

More church gardens

A stolen kiss at a wedding

Cool sign

A farewell toast

A farewell toast photobombed by our waiter Ardi

This was an interesting cruise. Our second cruise and first river cruise. We saw a lot of great sites, and enjoyed being together.
