The Sagrada Familia – Up Close and Personal
Gail returned this morning (5/31)! To celebrate, we went to the rooftop terrace of Sercotel Rosellón. It was amazing. The terrace was on the roof (8th floor) of the hotel and was directly across from the Sagrada Familia.

Here are some of the sights we saw. First Hosanna Excelsis (hosanna in the highest.)

The gold looks like loaves of bread to me (they look like bananas to Gail), and there’s a wind sock. Probably has great meaning, but not to me.

The star on the top of the incomplete Jesus tower is flanked by symbols of the 4 evangelists. We can see 2 here: Luke (LC), the ox, and Mark (MC), the lion.

Here we are, together again!!

This terrace must be reserved 2 weeks in advance. Reservations are not available beyond 2 weeks. Reservations are sold out for all except the last 2 days of the 2 week period. A lot of hassle, but well worth it!
Our waiter Marcello was a very funny guy. He joked with us, pretended to join us for dinner, and was a very nice guy. After diner, we returned to our Airbnb and rested. The rest will continue tomorrow, the first of June. Monday, we’re on our way to Budapest.
Gorgeous photos!! Enjoyed all of them !
Hope all is going well on this next part! Phyllis
