Zaragoza
It’s about 200 miles from Madrid to Zaragoza. On the high speed train, I made it in an hour and three quarters. Very pleasant countryside. Very comfortable seats. Not many people got off in Zaragoza; most were headed to Barcelona. Ken and Cathy’s train arrived about an hour after mine. I waited for them and we took taxi to our Airbnb.
Our host, Jorge, met us and gave us a tour of the apartment. Starting with the terrace. Incredibile views.

The apartment was nice. Really well stocked kitchen. Metal shades to block out outside light and noise. Nice TV. We used it last night (today is 5/24) to watch a YouTube video about Zaragoza from Road Trip Spain and Portugal. Two problems: only one bathroom that’s off the master bedroom; my bed is a pull down one in the dining room. But every Airbnb has its quirks that you learn to live with. And I can put up with a lot for the view!
After dinner, we walked to the river Ebro.

We took this photo from a tower inside an information center. Then we strolled through the central market where we bought incredible cherries and strawberries. After picking up some yogurt from a convenience store right next to our Airbnb, we experienced a fantastic sunset.
